In my view it wasn't really necessary to only split the final adaptation into two films, but with something as popular as the Wizarding World Hollywood must cash every last drop from the cow. Much of the drama is internal between Ron, Harry, and Hermione on a long, unhappy camping trip. Voldemort isn't seen until the end. The action and VFX are at their best here, so that's the high point.
