For its multi-intersection spiral story, quick and sharp editing and clever camera angles, high-stakes tension and startling action, and performances on the edge of the human condition--The Departed is a perfect film. Fourteen years of re-watching it, I still pick up more details from its dense story. You can miss a lot with one blink in The Departed--that's what a classic is supposed to be.
