Fungus is cool enough to get away with cult-like dominance over the animal kingdom from the mycologists who present this film. It's arguable whether or not this is big screen material, but it's certainly a nice optimistic break from all the planetary doom and gloom hinted in BBC and Planet Earth documentaries. Nature as a conscious entity——it's not such an outlandish concept in Fantastic Fungi.
